Accessibility at Coodlie Park

At Coodlie Park Eco Retreat, we want every guest to feel welcome, respected and supported. We are committed to making our website, accommodation and nature-based experiences as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible. Coodlie Park is located within a remote, natural bushland environment. While this setting is an important part of the Coodlie experience, it also means that some areas include gravel roads, uneven ground, natural slopes and off-grid facilities that may not be suitable for every visitor.

We encourage guests with accessibility requirements to contact us before booking so we can provide clear information, discuss individual needs and assist with planning their stay.

Visiting Coodlie Park

Coodlie Park is a rural eco retreat surrounded by natural coastal mallee bushland. Some parts of the property may be difficult to access using wheelchairs, mobility aids or prams. We are happy to discuss the layout and conditions of the property before arrival to help guests decide whether the accommodation, campground or experience will meet their needs.

• Dirt, sand or uneven ground.

• Natural slopes and narrow pathways.

• Steps or changes in ground level.

• Limited permanent outdoor lighting.

• Distances between accommodation, amenities and activity areas.

• Off-grid and bush-style facilities.

Accessible Housing - Piccadilly Eco-Cottage
These features may assist some guests; however, Piccadilly Eco-Cottage has not been independently assessed or certified as fully wheelchair accessible. Individual access requirements vary, so we recommend contacting us before booking to discuss the cottage layout, bathroom facilities, entrance and surrounding ground conditions.
 

Piccadilly Eco-Cottage includes several features that may assist guests with reduced mobility:

• Step-free entrance via a ramp.

• Parking located close to the cottage.

• Ground-level accommodation.

• A toilet support handrail.

Camp Coodlie

Camp Coodlie is an off-grid bush campground with natural and uneven terrain. The campground includes gravel and dirt roads, unsealed campsites, you are encouraged to bring your own shower and toilets, as the shared campground facilities do not have ramps or rails.

Accessibility can vary between campsites and may be affected by weather and ground conditions.
 

Camp Coodlie may not be suitable for all wheelchairs or mobility aids. Guests with accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact us so we can discuss campsite locations, distances from amenities and the most suitable available options.

Tours and Experiences

Our stargazing and nocturnal wildlife experiences take place outdoors in a natural environment. We may be able to make reasonable adjustments depending on the activity, location, weather and individual requirements.

• Very low-light or dark conditions.

• Red lighting used to protect night vision.

• Gravel or uneven ground.

• Standing or walking between viewing areas.

• Outdoor temperatures and changing weather.

• Vehicle travel through the property.

• Animal and wildlife sounds.

• Providing seating during stargazing experiences.

• Allowing additional time to move between areas.

• Selecting a more accessible viewing location where available.

• Providing verbal descriptions or additional assistance.

Not every activity or location can be fully adapted, but we will always provide honest information and assist wherever reasonably possible.

Assistance Animals and Support Persons

Coodlie Park Eco Retreat is a pet-friendly holiday park and accredited assistance animals are welcome at Coodlie Park.

As Coodlie Park is home to native wildlife, livestock and other animals, we ask guests travelling with pets to be aware and make any practical considerations to help protect the safety and wellbeing of guests, other pets and wildlife. *Please clean up after your pets and have on-lead where necessary. Guests are also welcome to attend with a support person or carer. Please provide this information when booking so we can help plan the most suitable accommodation, campsite or experience.

Sensory and Communication Needs

Coodlie Park is generally a quiet, natural environment, although guests may hear wildlife, livestock, farm animals, vehicles, machinery or other visitors. Our night-time experiences are conducted in very low-light conditions to protect the natural night sky and nocturnal wildlife. Red lights may be used during tours and around activity areas. Guests with sensory, visual, hearing, communication or cognitive accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact us before their stay. We can explain what to expect and discuss reasonable adjustments where possible.
